Back and working up from a downswing in my Grave’s disease.  Swings: they come, they go, I endure.  When down I drag myself through the day only doing what is absolutely necessary to prevent drastic negative effects, i.e. go to work so I don’t lose my job.  All other routine chores are delayed/abandoned until the upswing.

And my thermal controls go crazy.  I am in sweats and cold. My spouse is in a T-shirt and hot.  Both my dogs lie panting on the floor.

Hopefully getting healthy will reduce the swing and increase the time span between swings.

Aftermath:              Gained two pounds
Stiffness and pain in muscles – will have to slowly work back into exercise routine
Undone chores – need to catch up on housework.

Tomorrow is market day, so I re-load on allowed foods, do some cooking, and push through a few easy exercises until I can move freely again.

Day 9

Today was a major drop.  Brain fuzz and lethargy and mental and physical slump. Part of the Graves disease syndrome.  One of the things I am trying to overcome with diet and exercise.  In the duration, I just work my way through until it lightens up again.  See you in a day or two.

Day Five and Day Six

Day Five

It started good,  meltdown, go to work, breakfast on my break, lunch, and then a major energy fade.  I made it through the afternoon at work, then came home and went to bed.  It was 6pm.  I slept until 0330 the next morning, when I had to get up again for work.

Day Six

An improvement on day five.  It is 8:15 pm and I am still awake. J
Did the meltdown this morning and skid a little on the food.  Went to Costco for food and ended up with a hot dog for dinner.  Bad judgement.

Goals for Day 7:  Stick to allowed food and drink more water.  Day eight starts a weeks vacation so I can get all three exercises in, create menus, and prepare food for the future.  Stuff I should have done prior to day 1 but life got in the way.  Now I will catch up and move forward faster.

Day Four

The Good.

Got in my meltdown at 0330 hrs.  I know its weird.  My work shift is 0600 hrs. to 1630 hrs. Sunday through Thursday.  Law enforcment runs 24-7 shifts.

Got in my supplements.  Mostly good food – (One iced coffee slip. It was 106° today.  I live in the Southern California Desert.) chicken, rice, peas, bananas, and protein smoothie.

The Bad

I was busy.  The holiday was hot, the beer was flowing, and a lot of people ended up in jail.  Missed both breaks but got my ½ hour lunch in while working on processing drunks. Now if they would all go on ED J.  No breaks no power circuit L.

No ICP after work, this is my fault.  I forgot I had to be somewhere and did not schedule my time.

The Stumble Block:  Getting 8 hours of sleep on work nights.  By the time I get home, fix dinner, eat, clean up, take care of my dogs, check my blue group, write this, it is 0930.  Rush to bed by 10 and I get ~ 5 hours of sleep.  Must work on this.

End of Day 3

The End of Day Three.

I got my sweat and exercise in a way that will not be repeated until next Fourth of July. J

I marched 2 miles in a parade in 18th century garb in 90-degree heat as illustrated below.  I did wear a hat.  And for bonus points, it was a three block climb uphill back to the car.

I feel much better then yesterday.  Still have the headache and the brain fog, but my muscles are functioning again.  Tomorrow I start with the structured exercise.

Food was off a bit, had a burger on a bun and diet soda to drink as I was a friend’s house and the pickings were slim.

Tomorrow I am back at work, packing my on breakfast and lunch (I start work at 6 am) and starting the day with a meltdown.  Will work in the power circuit on break and do the icp when I get home.  At least that is the plan.

Day 3

Day 2 started out ok and then went down hill from 1 pm.  Headache, muscle aches like flu, fuzzy thinking and lack of co-ordination.  All plans out the window.  Hopefully Day 3 will be better.
